BORN HULL 13/05/1894. SON OF THOMAS WILLIAM HUDSON & ANNIE PARKER, OF 9, ALBERT SQUARE, ELLA STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS).
EDUCATED AT NEWLAND AVENUE COUNCIL SCHOOL. A KEEN SPORTSMAN. HE WAS A MEMBER OF THE ST JUDES FOOTBALL TEAM, THE HULL CITY SWIMMING CLUB AND THE HULL HARRIERS RUNNING CLUB. IN 1913, HE WON THE BRONZE MEDAL FOR A STUDY IN LETTERING AT THE HULL SCHOOL OF ART.
HE WAS EMPLOYED AS A LITHO ARTIST FOR MESSRS. GODDARD, WALKER AND BROWN, IN SILVER STREET, HULL.
HE ENLISTED IN HULL ON 25TH AUGUST 1914, WITH HIS BROTHER, FRANCIS, WHO JOINED THE RAMC. HE JOINED THE 9TH WEST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. LEFT FOR THE DARDENELLES, ON THE 3RD JULY 1915. KILLED IN ACTION, AT SULVA BAY, ON 7TH AUGUST 1915, AGED 21. HE WAS UNMARRIED.
THE 9TH WEST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT WAS SPECIALLY MENTION IN LORD HAMILITON’S DISPATCHES FOR THEIR GOOD CONDUCT AT THE LANDINGS.
HIS DEATH AND PHOTOGRAPH APPEAR IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL ON THE 10TH SEPTEMBER 1915, AND THE HULL TIMES ON THE 11TH SEPTEMBER 1915, WITH HIS PHOTOGRAPH. *
HE IS ALSO LISTED IN THE DE RUVIGNY ROLL OF HONOUR, VOLUME 1, WITH HIS PHOTOGRAPH. *
HIS BROTHER FRANCIS PARKER HUDSON, RAMC, DIED OF PNEUMONIA ON 20/08/1918.
