BORN HULL 1889. ENLISTED HULL. SON OF FRED & MARY JANE HUNT OF 1, GRANVILLE AVENUE, REYNOLDSON STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS).
MARRIED ON 28/10/1909. HIS WIDOW FRANCES ELLEN HUNT LIVED AT 65 GRANGE STREET, HULL. THEY HAD TWO DAUGHTERS, ANNIE AND ALMA ELLEN.
HE WENT FROM NEWCASTLE TO FRANCE WITH COLONEL SHAW ON 17TH APRIL 1915. WOUNDED IN THE HEAD AND RIGHT LEG, AT YPRES, ON 5TH MAY 1915. HIS THREE FRIENDS BEING KILLED NEARBY BY A SHELL (CPL DAVIDSON, PTE WHITEHEAD, AND PTE, THOMAS). ARTHUR HUNT WAS SENT TO DEVONPORT HOSPITAL AND GIVEN SEVEN DAYS HOME LEAVE. HAVING SURVIVED THIS MARVELOUS ESCAPE, HE WAS EVENTUALLY KILLED ON 23/03/1918, AGED 29.
