BORN HULL 04/10/1882 SON OF GEORGE MARSHALL HUNTER  (1850-1923) & KATE RICHARDSON (1856-1920), OF 29, BOND STREET & 19, GROVE STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). BEFORE THE WAR GEORGE WORKED FOR THE HULL DAILY MAIL AND HULL TIMES AND LATER AS A BUSINESS TRANSFER AGENT IN BOND STREET, HULL.

HE ENLISTED IN HULL, SERVING WITH THE 8TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. HE WAS WOUNDED ON 28TH DECEMBER 1916 AND REJOINED THE EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT TO BE KILLED ON THE 9TH APRIL 1917, AGED 34. HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 5TH MAY 1917, WITH HIS PHOTOGRAPH. *

HE LEFT £545 IN HIS WILL TO HIS FATHER, GEORGE MARSHALL HUNTER, A RETIRED CIVIL SERVANT.
HIS BROTHER, HARRY, HAD BEEN IN FRANCE, WITH THE ROYL ENGINEER’S, SIGNALING STATION, SINCE AUGUST 1914. ANOTHER BROTHER, CECIL, SERVED IN EGYPT AND FRANCE AND WAS DISCHARGED FROM SERVICE WITH ‘DISEASED KNEES’, CONTRACTED IN THE TRENCHES.
