BORN HULL 1889. SON OF BENJAMIN JARVIS (1850-1914) & ELIZA BROWN (1850-1919), OF 15 BURLEIGH PLACE, PROVIDENCE ROW, HULL & LATER 9 WATERLOO TERRACE, WELLINGTON LANE, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). MARRIED IN 1912. HIS WIFE ADA LIVED – 2 SELKIRK STREET, HULL. EMPLOYED AS A TANNER’S LABOURER.
HE ENLISTED IN HULL. JOINED THE 6TH EAST YORKSHIRE PIONEERS. LEFT FOR THE DARDENELLES, ON 14/07/1915. KILLED IN ACTION, AT GALLIPOLI, ON 09/08/1915, AGED 26. HE I COMMEMORATED ON THE HELLES MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL WITH HIS PHOTOGRAPH ON 4TH FEBRUARY 1916. *
