BORN HULL 1889. SON OF RICHARD JOLLEY (1860-1916) & HANNAH JOLLEY (1864-1919), OF 148 , GLASGOW STREET, HULL. SON OF A JOINER AND WHEELWRIGHT. HE HAD FOUR BROTHERS AND THREE SISTERS. HE WAS UNMARRIED, LIVED AT HOME AND WORKED AS A JOINER’S LABOURER.
HE ENLISTED IN HULL. FORMERLY, PRIVATE, 3164 EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. TRANSFERRED TO THE 19TH DURHAM LIGHT INFANTRY. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 25/03/1918, AGED 28. COMEMORATED ON THE POZIERES MEMORIAL, SOMME, FRANCE.

HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL WITH HIS PHOTOGRAPH ON 3RD MARCH 1916. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS ELDEST SISTER, MISS ALICE JOLLEY, AT 148, GLASGOW STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS).
HIS FOUR BROTHERS, SERVED IN THE WAR, AND ALDEN JOLLEY, (MGC), WAS WOUNDED IN THE ARM.
