Hull Teachers ww1 Memorial, Guildhall, Hull. Included the names of 27 Hull teachers lost in WW1. Two further names were added.

BORN HULL 1891. SECOND SON OF THE LATE RICHARD & MARY KEAL. HUSBAND OF BESSIE KEAL OF 128 SUMMERGANGS ROAD, HULL.

HE WAS EDUCATED AT CRAVEN STREET, SCHOOL AND AT ST JOHN’S COLLEGE, YORK. HE WAS A HULL TEACHER AT THE CROWLE STREET, SECONDARY SCHOOL..

HE ENLISTED IN THE HULL PALS WHEN WAR BEGAN. SERVED WITH THE 10TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT IN EGYPT AND FRANCE.

WOUNDED ON THE 27/02/1917. DIED OF WOUNDS A WEEK LATER, ON 06/03/1917, AGED 26. HE LEFT A WIDOW AND INFANT SON. ALSO A WIDOWED MOTHER TO MOURN HIS LOSS. HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 31/03/1917. *

HIS TWO BROTHERS, ALSO SERVED. SAPPER, EDWARD KEAL, WOUNDED AND IN GRAVESEND HOSPITAL. ALSO,  SERGEANT, SIDNEY KEAL, ON ACTIVE SERVICE WITH THE EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT.
