BORN HULL 1895. SON OF DAVID ABLETT KENNINGTON (1858-1937) & ANNIE CHALLENS KENNINGTON (1862-1947), OF 5, DERBY TERRACE, THORNABY, STOCKTON ON TEES (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). HE HAD THREE BROTHERS AND TWO SISTERS. HE WAS SINGLE AND WORKED AS A BRASS MOULDER IN A BRASS FACTORY.
HE ENLISTED IN HULL. SERVED WITH THE 25TH NORTHUMBERLAND FUSILIERS (2ND TYNESIDE IRISH). DIED ON 23/03/1918, AGED 23. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS FATHER, DAVID A. KENNINGTON.
HE IS COMMEMORATED ON THE ARRAS MEMORIAL, FRANCE.
