SON OF LEWIS JAMES KOPLIK (1852-1922) & HARRETT GAUNT (1856-1943), OF 8 QUEENS COURT, SCOTT SQUARE, HUMBER STREET, HULL, 4, BRUNSWICK GROVE, BRUNSWICK AVENUE, HULL AND 11 WILTON STREET, HOLDERNESS ROAD, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESSES). SON OF A DOCK LABOURER. HE HAD FIVE BROTHERS AND THREE SISTERS. HE WORKED AS A FACTORY HAND AT FENNERS.
HE ENLISTED IN HULL. SERVED AS PRIVATE, 13/1258, EYR, IN EGYPT AND FRANCE. TRANSFERRED AS PRIVATE, 45148, 2ND SOUTH WALES BORDERES. KILLED IN ACTION, AT PASSCHENDAELE, ON 16/08/1917, AGED 23.
HIS NAME WAS RECORDED ON THE BRUNSWICK STREET ROLL OF HONOUR.
HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 24/08/1917.
HIS BROTHER LEWIS SERVED IN THE EYR. HIS BROTHER CHARLES KOPLIK FOUGHT FOR THE CANADIANS.
