HE WORKED AS A WEIGHING MACHINE FITTER IN STOKE (1911 CENSUS) AND AS A CLERK FOR THE HULL & BARNSLEY RAILWAY. HE LIVED AT 2 RAILWAY COTTAGES, ARGYLE STREET, HULL.

HE ENLISTED IN HULL, SERVED IN THE 1ST COLDSTREAM GUARDS. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 25/01/1915, AGED 24. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS MOTHER AND BOTH SISTERS.
