BORN HULL 1894. SON OF THE LATE ARTHUR LOCKEY, MOLESCROFT, HULL ROAD, HULL. PERCY ENLISTED IN THE “HULL COMMERCIALS”, 10TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. HE DIED ON THE 11TH AUGUST 1916, AGED 22. HE HAD LOST HIS PARENTS AT A YOUNG AGE AND ATTENDED THE SPRING BANK ORPHANAGE UNTIL HE WAS 15. HE WAS THEN FOUND COMMERCIAL WORK AS A DRAPER’S CLERK, WITH MESSRS, MAW, TILL, KIRKE & CO, IN HULL. HE WAS BAORDING AT 87 CHARLOTTE STREET, HULL (1911 CENSUS)A MEMORIAL SERVICE WAS HELD FOR PERCY AT ST LUKE’S CHURCH WHERE HE HAD BEEN CHRISTENED, ATTENDED SUNDAY SCHOOL AND SUNG IN THE CHURCH CHOIR. THE CEREMONY WAS DESCRIBED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL ON 4TH DECEMBER 1916. HE IS BURIED AT ST. VAAST POST MILITARY CEMETERY, RICHEBOURG-L’AVOUE
HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS BROTHER ARTHUR AND JOHN ROBERT LOCKEY AND HIS SISTER, GERTRUDE.
