HE LIVED AT 90 CLIFTON TERRACE, GOODWIN STREET, HULL FOR MANY EARS HE WAS IN THE EMPLOYMENT, OF MESSRS, J.G & B. tHOMPSON, GROSVENOR STREET, HULL. MARRIED. HIS WIFE EMMA LOCKHAM, LIVED AT 13 HERBERTS TERRACE, WESTBOURNE STREET, HULL HIS BROTHER H LOCKHAM LIVED AT 45 BARNSLEY STREET, HULL. HE SERVED IN THE ROYAL NAVY AS STOKER FIRST CLASS, ON HMS “TIPPERARY”, SUNK AT THE BATTLE OF JUTLAND. LOST AT SEA ON 01/06/1916, AGED 38. HE LEFT A WIDOW AND ONE CHILD. HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 08/06/1916. *
HE IS COMMEMORATED ON THE PORTSMOUTH NAVAL MEMORIAL, HAMPSHIRE, UK.
HIS NAME IS ALSO RECORDED ON THE ST THOMAS CHURCH MEMORIAL, CAMPBELL STREET AS J.P. LOCKMAN, ROYAL NAVY. THIS CHURCH WAS DESTROYED IN WW2, BUT A FRAGMENT OF THE ORIGINAL MEMORIAL REMAINS AT HOLY TRINITY CHURCH.
