BORN HULL 1896. SON OF THOMAS WILLIAM LONSDALE (1863-1946) & ANN BELLARD (1865-1943), OF 37, MAY STREET, BEVERLEY ROAD, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). HIS FATHER WAS THE CHURCH WARDEN OF ST MARY CHURCH, SCULCOATES LANE. HE HAD FIVE BROTHERS AN SISTER, CALLED IVY.

FORMERLY AN APPRENTICE SIGN WRITER. HE RESIDED AT 63 , NICHOLSON STREET, HULL

HE ENLISTED IN HULL. SERVED WITH THE 9TH WEST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. DIED OF WOUNDS AT THE 33RD FIELD AMBULANCE, IN THE DARDENELLES, ON 23/08/1915, AGED 19. COMMEMORATED ON THE HELLES MEMORIAL, TURKEY.

HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL WITH HIS PHOTO ON 4TH NOVEMBER 1915 AND THE 15TH DECEMBER 1915. *
