BORN HULL 1884. SON OF EDWARD LYONS & MARY ANN LYONS (1858-1904), OF HULL. HIS PARENTS WERE FROM IRELAND. HIS FATHER WAS A BRICKLAYER. HE HAD ONE BROTHER EDWARD AND ONE SISTER, ELLEN.
HE WORKED AS A LABOURER (1911 CENSUS). HIS ARMY ADDRESS WAS 16, SOMERSET TERRACE, STANIFORTH PLACE, HESSLE ROAD, HULL.
HE ENLISTED IN HULL. POSTED TO FRANCE. ON 17/04/1915. SERVED WITH THE 1/4TH EYR. DIED OF WOUNDS, ON 25/04/1915, AGED 31.
HIS BROTHER, PRIVATE, EDWARD LYONS, 37672, NORTHUMBERLAND FUSILIERS WAS ALSO KILLED IN THE WAR, ON 06/11/1916.
