EDUCATED AT JESSOP SCHOOL, LAMBETH. MARRIED AT ST AUGUSTINES CHURCH, HULL, 1912. HIS WIFE EMILY LOWES LIVED AT 7, EDOM VILLAS, MAYFIELD STREET, HULL (HDM ADDRESS – 03/05/1917).
A FORMER HOUSE PAINTER. HE JOINED THE 2ND NORTHUMBRIAN ROYAL GARRISON ARTILLERY, ON 10/04/1908. RE-ENLISTED IN HULL WHEN WAR BEGAN. FORMERLY PRIVATE, 24846 EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. TRANSFERRED TO THE 2ND YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. KILLED IN ACTION, AT ARRAS, ON 02/04/1917, AGED 31.
HIS NAME IS RECORDED ON THE ARRAS WAR MEMORIAL AND AT THE HULL METHODIST CHURCH MEMORIAL, PRINCES AVENUE, HULL.
HIS WAR PENSION WENT TO HIS WIDOW EMILY, HER ADOPTED DAUGHTER AUDREY AND THEIR SON, THE FAMILT MOVED TO 12, VICTORIA STREET, DERRINGHAM STREET, HULL ( PENSION LEDGER ADDRESS)
