HE MARRIED, MINNIE TOVER (1889-1954), AT ROOS, PATRINGTON, IN OCTOBER 1910. HIS WIFE MINNIE METCALF, LIVED IN ROOS. THEY HAD ONE DAUGHTER, FLORENCE MARY, BORN IN 1911.

HE EMIGRATED TO CANADA, FROM LIVERPOOL, ON 14TH APRIL 1911. ARRIVED IN HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA, ON 23RD APRIL 1911. RESIDED IN CALGARY, ALBERTA. WORKED AS A BLACKSMITH. HE ALSO SERVED ONE YEAR IN THE 103RD CALGARY RIFLES.

DESCRIBED AS 5 FOOT, 5.5 INCHES TALL, 37-41 INCH CHEST, BLUE EYES, FAIR HAIR, CHURCH OF ENGLAND RELIGION.

HE ENLISTED ON 10TH JANUARY, 1916. SERVED WITH THE 50TH ALBERTA, CANADIAN EXPEDITION FORCE. ARRIVED IN ENGLAND 30TH AUGUST 1916.

DIED OF WOUNDS, ON 17/06/1917, AGED 29, AT THE 12TH CANADIAN FIELD AMBULANCE. BURIED FRANCE (Villers-Bretonneux Military Cemetery, Somme, France)
