Hull Teachers ww1 Memorial, Guildhall, Hull. Included the names of 27 Hull teachers lost in WW1. Two further names were added.

BORN PEMBROKE, SOUTH WALES, 1890. SON OF JAMES MILLARD, AND MARIA WILSON, OF 72, HOLLAND STREET, HULL AND 119, NEWBRIDGE ROAD, HULL. HE HAD FIVE BROTHERS AND TWO SISTERS.

THOMAS WAS A SCHOOL TEACHER AT HULL’S, BLENKIN STREET BOYS SCHOOL. HE WAS 5 FOOT 7 INCHES TALL, 130 LBS WEIGHT, 34-36 INCH CHEST, WESTLEYAN RELIGION

HE MARRIED EDITH ROBBINS  AT HULL, ON 4TH OCTOBER 1914. THEIR DAUGHTER, NORA, WAS BORN ON 15TH MAY 1916.

HE ENLISTED IN THE “HULL COMMERCIALS”, ON 03/09/1914. SERVED IN THE 10TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT, IN EGYPT AND FRANCE. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 29/10/1916, AGED 26.

HE LEFT WIDOW, EDITH MILLARD & INFANT CHILD HE NEVER SAW LIVED AT 71, KINGS BENCH STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS).
HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL ON THE 9TH NOVEMBER 1916, WITH HIS PHOTOGRAPH.

HIS WIDOW WAS AWARDED A WEEKLY WAR PENSION OF 18 SHILLINGS AND NINE PENCE.
