BORN HULL 24/08/1898. YOUNGEST SON OF JOSEPH MOODY (1858-1937) & ELLEN LANE (1858-1924), OF 14, VENTOR STREET, HULL (CWGC ADDRESS). HE HAD THREE BROTHERS AND THREE SISTERS. DESCRIBED AS 5 FOOT, 7 INCHES TALL, 34-36 INCH CHEST, 130 LBS WEIGHT,

ENLISTED AT HULL, ON 05/06/1916. JOINED THE EYR. TRANSFERRED TO THE MOUNTED MACHINE GUN SECTION. FRANK WAS WOUNDED (INTESTINES), AT THE SOMME. HE DIED UNDER OPERATION IN HOSPITAL AT GRANTHAM, LINCOLNSHIRE. HE WAS 18 YEARS OLD. BURIED AT HULL NORTHERN CEMETERY.

HIS NAME IS LISTED ON HOLY TRINITY, METHODIST CHURCH, ROLL OF HONOUR, COTTINGHAM ROAD, HULL AND THE HULL TECHNICAL COLLEGE ROLL OF HONOUR, PARK STREET, HULL. ALSO LISTED ON THE ST JOHNS WW1 MEMORIAL, NEWLAND, HULL.

HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL ON THE 13TH DECEMBER 1916, WITH HIS PHOTOGRAPH. *

HIS TWO BROTHERS SERVED IN THE ROYAL FUSILIERS AND RFA.
