SON OF A FARM LABOURER. HE HAD THREE SISTERS, AND FIVE BROTHERS. A SINGLE MAN. HE WORKED AS A MILLENER’S ERRAND BOY.
HE ENLISTED IN HULL. POSTED TO FRANCE, ON, 03/09/1915. HE SERVED IN THE 7TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. KILLED IN ACTION ON 23/04/1917, AGED 20. COMMEMORATED ON THE ARRAS MEMORIAL.
HIS WAR PENSION WENT TO HIS MOTHER, MRS ANNIE LEGARD (BORN 1877), WHO REMARRIED AND MOVED TO 3, ST ANDREWS STREET, FLEMING GATE, BEVERLEY.
