BORN HULL 1895. ONLY SON OF THOMAS JOHN MORROD (1853-1917) & SARAH JANE EYRE (1856-1928), OF 4, MINERVA TERRACE, PORTER STREET, HULL  (WAR PENSION ADDRESS) AND 3 BARREL COURT, EDGAR STREET, HULL. HE HAD FOUR SISTERS. SON OF A FRUITIERS LABOURER. HE WORKED AS AN ERRAND BOY

HE ENLISTED IN HULL. SERVED WITH THE 6TH EAST YORKSHIRE PIONEERS. LEFT ENGLAND ON 14/07/1915. KILLED AT GALLIPOLI, ON 09/08/1915, AGED 20.

HIS NAME IS RECORDED ON THE WALKER STREET MEMORIAL. LISTED MISSING ON THE ST JAMES STREET ROLL OF HONOUR (Hull Daily Mail 03 October 1916).

HIS WAR PENSION WENT TO HIS MOTHER, WHO MOVED TO 7, CHESTNUT AVENUE, CONVENT LAND HULL, THEN GRIMSBY AND LATER SCUNTHORPE AFTER THE WAR.
