AN OIL MILL LABOURER. HE ENLISTED IN THE SHERWOOD FORRESTERS, ON THE 12/05/1916. SERVED IN FRANCE. WOUNDED ON 27/04/1917.TRANSFERRED TO THE MACHINE GUN CORPS, ON 19/09/1917. DIED OF WOUNDS, ON 06/10/1918, AGED 21, AT NO:9 GENERAL HOSPITAL, ROUEN. BURIED AT ST SEVER MILITARY CEMETERY, ROUEN.
HE WAS UNMARRIED. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS FATHER, GEORGE, HE WAS BROTHER TO, MARGARET, ALBERT, HAROLD, JOHN, ELIZABETH AND GEORGE.
HIS DEATH WAS RECORDED IN THE DE RUVIGNY ROLL OF HONOUR, VOLUME 5.
