BORN HULL 1892. SECONDSON OF THOMAS AND ELIZABETH PEARSON, AT 64 TUNIS STREET, HULL (1911 CENSUS). SON OF A GENERAL LABOURER. HIS FATHER WAS BORNIN LEVEN. HIS MOTHER WABORN IN LINCOLNSHIRE. HE HAD TWO BROTHERS AND FOUR SISTERS. HE WORKED AS A PAINT WORKS LABOURER.

HIS WIFE ALICE M. BUTCHER, LIVED 120, ST PAULS STREET (CWGC ADDRESS).

HE ENLISTED IN HULL. FORMERLY, PRIVATE,  13/196 EYR. SERVED IN EGYPT AND FRANCE. TRANSFERRED TO THE 2ND SOUTH WALES BORDERERS. KILLED IN ACTION, AT CAMBRAI, ON 21/11/1917, AGED 25. HE IS COMMEMORATED AT THE CAMBRAI MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.

HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS WIDOW, ALICE M. PEARSON. HE WAS BROTHER TO, HERBERT, MINNIE, JESSIE, HARRIET, EDITH AND FRANK.
HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 19/03/1918.

HIS NAME IS ALSO INSCRIBED ON THE PILLARS INSIDE ST ST MARY’S CHURCH, SCULCOATES LANE, HULL.
