BORN ADELAIDE, AUSTRALIA, 1900. SON OF JOHN WILKINSON PEASEGOOD (1865-1899) AND BEATRICE MARY CHAPPELLE (1868-1929), OF 8 GRANVILLE STREET, HULL (1911 CENSUS) AND “CYPRUS HOUSE”, NEWPORT, BROUGH, EAST YORKSHIRE (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). BOTH HIS PARENTS WERE BORN IN HULL. HIS FATHER WAS A WATCHMAN AT THE SUGAR COMPANY, IN SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA, AND WAS FOUND DROWNED, IN 1899, AGED 33. HIS MOTHER MARRIED TWICE MORE, THOMAS ALLATT IN 1900 AND WILIIAM CHARLES CHAPPELL, IN 1908. HE HAD SIX BROTHERS AND TWO SISTERS. HIS GRANDFATHER WAS AN OIL MERCHANT IN HULL, CHAIRMAN OF THE KINGSTON GAS COMPANY AND FORMER SHERIFF OF THE CITY.
HE LIVED AT PRUDENTIAL BUILDINGS, KING EDWARDS STREET, HULL. HE ENLISTED AT NEWCASTLE. SERVED WITH THE 23RD TYNSIDE SCOTTISH. REPORTED MISSING IN FRANCE, ON 11/04/1918, AGED 18. HIS WAR PENSION WENTTO HIS MOTHER.
HIS BROTHER PTE. CYRIL JOHN PEASEGOOD ALLATT, 13TH EAST YORKSHIRE (HULL PALS), WAS KILLED IN ACTION, ON THE 26TH JULY 1916, AGED 23. HIS BROTHER, PRIVATE, PERCY ALLEN PEASGOOD, YORKSHIRE REGIMENT WAS AWARED THE SILVER BADGE AND DISCHARGED FROM THE ARMY WITH WOUNDS, IN 1917.
