BORN HULL 1892. SON OF ARTHUR SEPTIMUS PERRY (1873-1923) & HARRIET DAWSON (1873-1926), OF 81 HESSLE ROAD, HULL.
HE MARRIED IN JULY 1914. HIS WIFE ISABELA PERRY (5/2/1897-1994), LIVED AT 15 CLEO TERRACE, WESTMORELAND STREET, HULL. PRIVATE, PERRY WAS CALLED UP AT THE OUTBREAK OF WAR, BEING ONE OF THE EAST YORKSHIRE REGULARS. BEFORE THE WAR HE WORKED FOR WRAY BROTHERS, CORN DEALERS AT CAROLINE PLACE, HULL.
HE ENLISTED IN HULL. SERVED WITH THE 6TH EAST YORKSHIRE PIONEERS, AT GALLIPOLI. HE WAS SEVERELY WOUNDED IN FRANCE, ON 05/09/1916, AND DIED OF WOUNDS, THE SAME DAY. HE WAS 23 AND LEFT A WIDOW AND ONE DAUGHTER, NORA (BORN 13TH NOV 1914). THEY MOVED TO 19, HANNAH’S TERRACE, DALTON STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). HIS WIDOW, MARRIED PRIVATE, WALSH, 9416, 2ND EYR, ON 3RD MARCH 1917.
HE IS LISTED ON HULL’S WALKER STREET WW1 MEMORIAL & ON THE SPENCER STREET ROLLS OF HONOUR- (PRINTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 01/12/16). HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL WITH HIS PHOTOGRAPH ON 15TH SEPTEMBER 1916.*
HE IS BURIED AT WARLOY-BAILLON COMMUNAL CEMETERY EXTENSION, SOMME, FRANCE.
