BOTH HIS PARENTS WERE BORN IN HULL. HIS FATHER WAS A WATCHMAN AT THE SUGAR COMPANY, IN SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA, AND WAS FOUND DROWNED, IN 1899, AGED 33. HIS MOTHER MARRIED TWICE MORE, THOMAS ALLATT IN 1900 AND WILLIAM CHARLES CHAPPELL, IN 1908. HE HAD SIX BROTHERS AND TWO SISTERS. HIS GRANDFATHER WAS CHAIRMAN OF THE KINGSTON GAS COMPANY AND HAD BEEN SHERIFF OF HULL.
HE MARRIED AT ST JOHNS CHURCH, NEWINGTON, HULL, ON 29/061914. HIS WIFE ELLEN TARBOTTON (1889-1923), LIVED AT 8 , HOLBORN STREET, HULL. HE WAS WELL KNOWN ON THE HULL CARS AND WORKED FOR THE NORTH EASTERN RAILWAYS AS A MOTORMAN. HE ENLISTED IN HULL, ON 20/11/1914. DESCRIBED AS 5 FOOT, 6.5 INCHES TALL, 35 INCH CHEST, 134 LBS WEIGHT. TRAINED AT BEVERLEY AND RIPON. SERVED IN EGYPT AND FRANCE WITH THE 13TH (HULL PALS) EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. DIED OF WOUNDS AT NO: 4 CASUALTY CLEARING STATION, ON 26/05/1916, AGED 23. HE IS BURIED AT BEAUVAL BRITISH CEMETERY, FRANCE

HIS ELDER BROTHER, SYDNEY PEASEGOOD, SERVED IN THE MERCHANT NAVY DURING THE WAR. HIS SECOND BROTHER, PRIVATE, PERCY ALLEN ALLATT, 12434, YORKSHIRE REGIMENT, WAS DISCHARGED WOUNDED, ON 10/03/1917 (SILVER BADGE NO: 235449). HIS BROTHER, PRIVATE, JOHN WILKINSON PEASEGOOD ALLATT, 23RD NORTHHUMBERLAND FUSILIERS, DIED IN FRANCE, ON 11/04/1918, AGED 18. HIS YOUNGER BROTHERS, VICTOR ALLATT ENLISTED IN THE ROYAL MARINES AND REGINALD MANLY ALLATT, JOINED THE COLDSTREAM GUARDS.
