HE ENLISTED IN HULL, AS A GUNNER IN THE ROYAL HORSE ARTILLERY. TRANSFERRED TO THE ROYAL FIELD ARTILLERY. DIED OF WOUNDS, ON 05/04/1917, AT 44TH CASUALTY CLEARING STATION, AGED 20. HE IS BURIED ON THE SOMME. UNMARRIED. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS MOTHER, CHARLOTTE.
HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL ON THE 16TH AND 21ST APRIL 1917, WITH HIS PHOTOGRAPH. *
