Robinson, George Clarence

BORN HULL 08/08/1896. SON OF THE LATE JAMES & ALICE (NICHOLS), OF, 159, FOUNTAIN ROAD, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). HIS GREAT GRAND FATHER, WILLIAM ROBINSON HAD SERVED ON HMS ‘VICTORY’ AND CARRIED NELSON BELOW DECKS AT TRAFALGA. GEORGE SERVED ON THE FLAG SHIP HMS ‘IRON DUKE’, FOR OVER FOUR YEARS. HE DIED OF FLU ON THE HOSPITAL SHIP ‘BERBICE’, AGED 22. HIS BROTHER, WALTER ROBINSON HAD BEEN SERVING WITH THE RAMC IN FRANCE SINCE 1915. HIS OTHER BROTHER, ARTHUR, HAD SERVED IN FRANCE SINCE 1ST APRIL 1918 WITH THE SOUTH STAFFS REGIMENT. GEORGE’S DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL WITH HIS PHOTOGRAPH ON 19TH DECEMBER 1918. *
HE IS BURIED IN HULL WESTERN CEMETERY.

HIS BROTHERS SERVED IN THE WAR, WALTER (RAMC) & ARTHUR (SOUTH STAFFS) BOTH IN FRANCE.
