BORN BRIDLINGTON, 1899. SON OF ARTHUR RUSHOLME (1863-1954) & ALICE CLUBLEY (1862-1932), OF 8, MELROSE AVENUE, WYNDHAM STREET, HULL & 57 NORWOOD STREET, HULL (ARMY ADDRESS). SON OF A HOUSE PAINTER. HE HAD THREE BROTHERS AND ONE SISTER. THREE SONS WERE KILLED IN THE WAR.
HE WORKED WITH HIS FATHER AS A PAINTER’S APPRENTICE. DESCRIBED AS 5 FOOT, 8 INCHES TALL, 35-37.5 INCH CHEST, 123 LBS WEIGHT.
ENLISTED IN HULL, ON 13/01/1917, AGED 17. TRAINED AT BROCTON CAMP. POSTED TO FRANCE, ON17/03/1918. GASSED ON 14/04/1918. POSTED WITH THE 9TH NOTTS AND DERBY REGIMENT, ON 25/05/1918. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 04/11/1918, AGED 18. HIS WAR PENSION WAS LEFT TO HIS MOTHER, ALICE.
HIS BROTHERS, JOHN HENRY RUSHOLME, 1ST EYR AND WILLIAM ARTHUR RUSHOLME, 7TH EYR, WERE ALSO KILLED IN ACTION, DURING THE WAR.
