BORN HULL 1897. SON OF ARTHUR RUSHOLME (1863-1954) & ALICE CLUBLEY (1862-1932), OF 8, MELROSE AVENUE, WYNDHAM STREET, HULL & 57 NORWOOD STREET, HULL (ARMY ADDRESS). SON OF A HOUSE PAINTER. HE HAD THREE BROTHERS AND ONE SISTER. THREE SONS WERE KILLED IN THE WAR.
JOHN HENRY RUSHOLME WAS A PLUMBER BEFORE THE WAR. A SINGLE MAN. DESCRIBED AS 5 FOOT, 5 INCHES TALL, 33-35 INCH CHEST, 112 LB WEIGHT,
HE ENLISTED IN HULL, ON 12/12/1915. POSTED TO FRANCE, ON 12/12/1916. SERVED WITH THE 1ST EAST YORKHIRE REGIMENT. HE HAD SERVED INTHE ARMY FOR 2 YEARS AND 135 DAYS. BEEN AT THE FRONT FOR 16 MONTHS. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 25/04/1918, AGED 21. COMMEMORATED ON THE TYNE COT MEMORIAL, BELGIUM. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS MOTHER, ALICE.
