BORN HULL 1881. HUSBAND OF MRS SMITH, AT 5 CLAREMONT VILLAS, SCARBOROUGH STREET, HULL (NAVAL RECORDS ADDRESS & CWGC ADDRESS). DROWNED 22/05/1915, AGED 34. LOST WITH ALL NINE CREW. HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL ON 28/05/1918.
Sebastian was a 172 GRT steam trawler completed in 1906 by Mackie & Thomson for Hellyer’s Steam Fishing Co. Ltd. On May 22nd, 1915, the ‘SEBASTIAN’ left Hull, and went missing. She was not heard of ever since.
