BORN HULL 1886. SON OF FRED & ANNIE M. STOW, OF FOUNTAIN ROAD, HULL . HUSBAND OF ALICE MAUD BURLACE STOW, OF 56, GODDARD AVENUE, HULL (AR PENSION ADDRESS). HE WAS A HULL POLICEMAN.
SERVED AS LANCE SERGEANT WITH THE 1ST WEST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. POSTED TO FRANCE WITH THE BRITISH EXPEDITIONARY FORCE. CAPTURED IN OCTOBER 1914. AND REPATRIATED AS A PRISONER OF WAR. HE DIED ON 19/03/1919, AGED 32. BURIED AT HULL NORTHERN CEMETERY. HIS GRAVE READS, “ONLY LENT”
