BORN KEYINGHAM 1878. SON OF THOMAS MALTON TARBOTTON (1850-1930) & (ELEANOR) MARY LAWSON (1851-1929), OF 5 REDCAR VILLARS, REDCAR STREET, HULL (1911 CENSUS & WAR PEMSION ADDRESS). HE HAD THREE BROTHERS AND FIVE SISTERS. WORKED AS A LABOURER.
HE ENLISTED IN HULL. EX PRIVATE, 5476, YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. TRANSFERRED TO THE 10TH KING’S OWN YORKSHIRE LIGHT INFANTRY. KILLED AT THE SOMME, ON 25/09/1916, AGED 30. COMMEMRORATED ON THE THIEPVAL MEMORIAL.
HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS MOTHER, ELEANOR MARY, WHO MOVED TO KEYINGHAM, AGED 71.
