BORN HULL 1890. ENLISTED HULL. KILLED IN ACTION. SON OF JESSE & MARTHA TYLER AND BROTHER OF ALFRED TYLER, OF 3 LONG ENTRY, SALTHOUSE LANE, HULLS.

HE SERVED IN THE BOER WAR WHERE HE AS WOUNDED AND WAS AGAIN WOUNDED IN 1915 IN THE THIGH.

HIS WIFE MARY JANE TYLER WAS MURDERED IN HULL AND HE RETURNED FROM THE FRONT FOR HER FUNERAL.

HIS PHOTOGRAPH APPEARS IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL ON THE 6TH SEPTEMBER 1915. *

HE SERVED WITH THE 1ST EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT AND WAS REPORTED MISSING ON THE SOMME, 14/07/1916, AGED 26. HE IS COMMEMORATED ON THE THIEPVAL MEMORIAL, FRANCE.
