EDUCATED AT LINCOLN STREET SCHOOL AND PLAYED FOR SOUTHCOATES RFC CLUB. WORKED AS AN OIL MILLER IN THE EMPLOYMENT OF MESSRS CHAMBERS AND FARGUS.
HE MARRIED ON 01/10/1910. WIFE MARIA (SCOTT) LIVED AT 32, AIR STREET, HULL & 76 OXFORD STREET. THEY HAD TWO DAUGHTERS LILLY (BORN 2/3/1912) AND LOTTIE (BORN 4/4/1914).
HE ENLISTED IN HULL, ON 02/09/1914. WENT TO FRANCE ON 18/02/1915. KILLED AT YPRES, ON 23/05/1915, AGED 25.
HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS WIDOW, WHO REMARRIED A LABOURER, ON 27/11/1915 AND BECAME MARIA HORTON.
HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL TIMES ON 22/05/1915, WITH HIS PHOTOGRAPH. *
