BORN HULL 1885. SON OF GEORGE AND MARIA WALKER, HULL. YOUNGEST OF SIX CHILDREN. HE MARRIED ANNIE MADGE WORRALL, IN PATRINGTON, IN 1912. HE ENLISTED IN HULL. FORMERLY, PRIVATE, 45774, YORKSHIRE LIGHT INFANTRY. TRANSFERRED TO THE 20TH MANCHESTER REGIMENT. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 07/10/1917, AGED 31.
BURIED AT HOOGE CRATER CEMETERY, BELGIUM. HIS GRAVE INSCRIPTION READ, “SOON TO FAITHFUL WARRIORS COMES THEIR REST”.
HIS PROBATE ADDRESS WAS 86 PRINCES AVENUE, HULL. HE LEFT HIS ARMY EFFECTS AND £202 IN HIS WILL TO HIS WIDOW, ANNIE MADGE WORRALL AND SON, TOM. THEY LATER MOVED TO WITHERNSEA. HE IS COMMEMORATED ON THE WITHERNSEA WW1 MEMORIAL.
