HE WAS LOST ON THE ‘RED CROSS’ COMPANY TRAWLER, “JERSEY” & BEFORE WAR WAS A SKIPPER FOR SEVEN YEARS ON OTHER CARRIERS. HE WAS LISTED ON THE BRIDLINGTON STREET ROH. HDM 29/12/1916. THERE ARE NO CWGC RECORDS. HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL WITH HIS PHOTOGRAPH ON 7TH & 23RD FEBRUARY 1916. *
His name is listed on the Bridlington Street Roll of Honour, (Hull Daily Mail 29 December 1916).
On November 5th, 1915, the Hull steam trawler JERSEY (H270), built in 1895 by Cochrane & Sons Shipbuilders Ltd. and owned at the time of her loss by Hull Steam Fishing & Ice Co.
