BORN HULL 1888.  SON OF EMILY WATSON (1852-1916) AND THOMAS JAMES WATSON (1845-1912), OF 5, SELBEy STREET, HULL (1901 CENSUS). SON OF A CARPENTER. HE HAD FOUR ELDER BROTHERS, CHARLES, HERBERT, GEORGE AND ALBERT, A YOUNGER BROTHER, WALTER AND SISTER, ISABELL PORTER.

HE LIVED WITH HIS BROTHER HERBERT AND WIDOWED MOTHER, AT 191, SOMERSET STREET, HULL AND WORKED AS A MILK VENDOR ((1911 CENSUS).

HE MARRIED AMY EMMA CROUCH, AT HULL, IN 1912. HIS WIFE AMY EMMA & 3 CHILDREN, LIVED AT 7 ST ANDREWS VILLAS, PRINCES ROAD, HULL (PENSION LEDGER ADDRESS). HE WORKED FOR THE HULL RADIATOR COMPANY.

HE ENLISTED IN HULL. SERVED WITH THE 1ST EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 10/09/1918, AGED 29. HE IS COMMEMORATED ON THE VIS-EN-ARTOIS MEMORIAL FRANCE.

HIS NAME WAS ALSO INCLUDED ON THE WAR MEMORIAL AT ST JOHN THE BAPTIST CHURCH, NEWINGTON, HULL.

HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS WIDOW. SHE RE-MARRIED, BECAME AMY EMMA LOFTHOUSE AND MOVED TO 28, DOVER STREET, WALNEY, BARROW IN FURNACE.

HIS NAME IS LISTED WITH 46 EMPLOYEES, ON HULL’S IDEAL BOLIER AND RADIATOR COMPANY MEMORIAL, NATIONAL AVENUE, HULL.
