Malabar was a 171 GRT steam trawler, completed in 1903 by Cook, Welton & Gemmell Ltd. for Hull Steam Fishing & Ice Co. Ltd. and registered at Hull as H.754.
The Malabar left Hull for the fishing grounds on 20th Dec 1915 and on the 27th Dec 1915 she was posted as missing after a period of severe weather, she was officially given up as lost on 19th January 1916 – possibly due to enemy action.
