BORN ST MATHEWS 06/02/1895. ONLY SON OF ARTHUR & SARAH ANN WHARAM, OF 8, SYDENHAM VILLAS, SPRING BANK HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS AND 46 WYNDHAM STREET, HULL (CWGC/NAVAL RECORDS ADDRESS). BEFORE THE WAR HE WORKED IN THE POST OFFICE AND AT RANKS MILLS AS A LABOURER.

HE SERVED IN THE ROYAL MARINE LIGHT INFANTRY. DIED OF WOUNDS, ON 02/05/1915, AGED 20, RECEIVED IN ACTION AT GALIPOLLI.

HE IS LISTED ON THE STANLEY STREET ROLL OF HONOUR. (PUBLISHED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, 21/11/16).

HIS DEATH AND PHOTOGRAPH WERE REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL ON THE 21ST MAY 1915, AND THE HULL TIMES ON THE 22ND MAY 1915. *

HE IS COMMEMORATED ON THE PORTSMOUTH NAVAL MEMORIAL, HAMPSHIRE.
