SERVED AS LIEUTENANT IN 52ND SQUADRON, ROYAL FLYING CORPS. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 26/03/1918, AGED 26. HIS NAME IS LISTED ON HULL’S HYMERS COLLEGE MEMORIAL. HE IS COMMEMORATED ON THE ARRAS MEMORIAL, FRANCE.
HE LEFT £404 IN HIS WILL TO HIS BROTHER IN LAWS, WILLIAM THOMAS ALLWOOD, ENGINEER’S DRAUGHTSMAN AND TOM BELL, SCHOOLMASTER.
HIS BROTHER WILLIAMSON GUY WHARRAM WAS ALSO KILLED IN ACTION, ON 31/08/1918, AGED 22.
