Enlisted at Driffield. Served as Rifleman in the 18th King’s Royal Rifle Corps. Died of wounds, on 03/10/1916, aged 23. He left his army effects and £579 in his will to his father, Robert
His name is recorded on Sproatley WW1 village memorial.
His brother, Charles Elgey Wharram, served in the Canadian Expeditionary Force.
