BORN HULL 1876. HULL PAL. ONLY SON OF HENRY WHITELEY (1837-1885) & SARAH ANN JACQUES (1837-1911), OF 25, FALMOUTH STREET, HULL.

HE ENLISTED IN THE 3RD HULL PALS. PROMOTED SERGEANT AND TRANSFERRED TO THE 10TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. HE WAS KILLED IN ACTION, ON 12/04/1918. AGED 42. COMMEMORATED ON THE PLOEGSTEERT MEMORIAL. HE LEFT 6 SISTERS.

HE MARRIED IN HULL, IN 1906. HIS WIFE MARY LIVED IN GRETNA, CARLISLE. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS WIDOW.

COMMEMORATED ON THE PLOEGSTEERT MEMORIAL, HAINAUT, BELGIUM. LISTED ON THE WW1 MEMORIAL, ST JOHNS CHURCH, NEWLAND, HULL.
