HE ENLISTED HULL. FORMERLY, PRIVATE, 20097 EAST YORKSHIRE YEOMANRY. TRANSFERRED TO THE 22ND MACHINE GUN CORPS. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 26/10/1917, AGED 20. HE WAS MENTIONED IN DESPATCHES. HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 13/06/1918.

HIS NAME IS RECORDED ON THE THORNGUMBOLD WW1 VILLAGE MEMORIAL, WHERE 65 MEN SERVED AND 9 DIED IN WW1.
