He married Charlotte Thompson, in Glanford in 1909. They had eight children.
Soldiers Died records state that he lived in Hull. He enlisted in Barton. Fornerly, Private, 25147, South Staffs Regiment. Transferred to the 3rd Worcestershire regiment.
He married Amy Mona Richards, in Hull, in 1916. They lived at 4, Victoria Avenue, Bean Street, Hull (War Pension address).
He was killed in action, on 27th May 1918, aged 47. Commemorated on the Soissons Memorial. His army Effects were left to his widow Amy M.
