HE ENLISTED IN HULL, ON 19/04/1915, AGED 22 YEARS AND 8 MONTHS. HIS ARMY MEDICAL RECORDS, DESCRIBED AS 5 FOOT, 2 INCHES TALL, 34.5 INCH CHEST. HE SERVED AS PRIVATE, 32/447, 16TH NORTHUMBERLAND FUSILIERS. HE DIED OF WOUNDS, ON 06/08/1916, AGED 24. HE IS BURIED AT FAUBOURG D’AMIENS CEMETERY, ARRAS. HIS PENSION WAS LEFT TO HIS MOTHER, ALICE (BORN 1870), AT THIS ADDRESS (PENSION LEDGER RECORDS)
