BORN HULL 13/03/1884. SON OF JAMES ROBERT DEARING (1859-1940) & ADELINE WALKER DEARING (1861-1903), OF 45 COURTNEY STREET, HOLDERNESS ROAD, HULL. SON OF A TIMBER YARD LABOURER. ONE OF SEVEN CHILDREN. BEFORE THE WAR HE WORKED AS A RULLYMAN.

HE ENLISTED IN HULL. SERVED AS PRIVATE, 1891, 1/4TH EAST YORKSHIRE BATTALION. ACCIDENTALLY KILLED, ON 27/11/1916, AGED 32.

HE LEFT WIDOW, ADA DEARING AND SON, GEORGE JAMES DEARING (1914-1988), AT THIS ADDRESS AND 3 BLANCHE GROVE, VICTOR STREET, HULL (war pension address).

HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL ON THE 13TH DECEMBER 1916, WITH HIS PHOTOGRAPH. *
HE IS BURIED AT BECOURT MILITARY CEMETERY, BECORDEL-BECOURT, SOMME, FRANCE. HIS GRAVE INSCRIPTION, READS, “SO GREATLY LOVED SO DEEPLY MOURNED”.
