BORN HULL 1880. SON OF ARTHUR FREDERICK FARR (1855-1882) AND ELLEN ELIZABETH MARNEY (1847-1909), OF 11 JANE’S PLACE, PORTER STREET, HULL (1901 CENSUS ADDRESS). HE HAD FOUR BROTHERS. WORKED AS A GENERAL LABOURER (1911 CENSUS).

HE MARRIED, ADA FARNHILL (1879-1969), AT HULL IN 1901. THEY LIVED WITH THEIR EIGHT CHILDREN AT 24 PRINCE OF WALES TERRACE, STANIFORTH PLACE, HULL AND 21 AIREDALE TERRACE, HESSLE ROAD, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESSES).

HE ENLISTED AT BEVERLEY. SERVED A CORPORAL IN THE 1ST EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. HE DIED OF GUN SHOT WOUNDS TO THE HEAD, ON 04/05/1916, AGED 35. BURIED ON THE SOMME.

HIS NAME WAS LISTED ON THE WILSON LINE CRICKET & ATHLETIC CLUB’S ROLL OF HONOUR.

RECORDED ON THE WAR MEMORIAL AT ST THOMAS CHURCH, CAMPBELL STREET, WHICH WAS DESTROYED IN AN AIR RAID DURING WW2.
