Son of Samuel and Agnes Burges, of Froxfield, Woburn, Beds. Husband of Mrs May Burges, of 4 Charlotte Street, Hull. He was the Store Manager of Fabricotti’s, Dock Street, Hull.

Served as a Sergeant, in the 9th King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry. Killed in action, on 22/04/1918, aged 27. His death was reported in the Hull Daily Mail, on 24/05/1918.
