

Born Burstwick, Yorkshire, 1888. Son of Frederick and Mary Agnes Blenkin, of Old Hall, Burstwick. Son of a farmer. He was a farm worker. Enlisted Hull, joining the East Riding Yeomanry in 1906. Formerly 533, East Riding Yeomanry. Served in the Middle East. Posted to France. Transferred to the 1/4 King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry. Died of Wounds, on 09/10/1917, aged 28.
His army effects were left to his father, Fred. Commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial, Belgium.
