Born Hull 21/05/1898. Son of Ebenezer Holt (1871-1923) Alice Hampton (1875-1968), of 2,& 9, Clyde Terrace, Brighton Street, Hull (War pension address). Worked as an engine cleaner.

He joined the 1/4th EYR on 21/04/1914. Transferred as R.2045, Royal Naval Division, Anson Battalion, on 15/06/1917. Discharged with gas poisoning and gun shot wounds to his left leg, on 15/03/1919. Served for 3 years and 57 days. Drowned on 03/03/1921, aged 23.
