He enlisted in Hull. Served as CSM, 11th West Yorkshire Regiment. Killed in action, on 07/06/1917, aged 28. Awarded the Military Medal (MM) for Gallantry. Commemorated on the Ypres Menin Gate Memorial, Belgium.
